We are so excited to be hosting our second annual Women’s Health Retreat in Chester, CT on January 17th, 2026!

Join our amazing practitioner team for a complete mind, body, spirit reset. This retreat will be women only (sorry men) and will focus on nervous system regulation, emotional health, journaling, feel good somatic movement, guided vision mediation, and other restorative modalities.

The Experience

The Experience

  • Sessions with our professional practitioners, including a guided breath work journey, Self Love Workshop, and Knitting for  well-being workshop and nervous system regulation (for all levels, even a total beginner)
  • End the day with a restorative, nervous system-balancing, feel good somatic movement class (sort of like gentle yoga and appropriate for all bodies)
  • Individual mini-sessions with Fernwood’s practitioners for body work, acupuncture, energy work, and holistic esthetics. Each participant will be able to choose 2 mini-sessions.
  • Labrynth walk on the beautiful grounds of the retreat center, weather permitting
  • Time to relax and enjoy nourishing downtime in the beautiful and tranquil setting of the Chester Guest House and Retreat Center
  • A delicious, nourishing lunch, snacks, and tea

Guided Breath Work Journey

With Dr. Krete

Changing the way we inhale and exhale has a dramatic impact on our health.  This has been known for thousands of years, with knowledge dating back to ancient yoga texts and practices, through books of the Chinese Tao from around 400 BCE, all the way up to modern day research. Breathing is a powerful medicine that can influence our physical and mental health in dramatic ways, and has been used to lengthen lives, as a tool to connect with the self, and even to reach higher states of consciousness. In this guided breath work journey you we will weave together different breath work techniques to calm the mind, regulate the nervous system and bring you back to your center.

Self-Love Workshop: The Love You Deserve

With Sara Christiansen Jeffs

You give so much to others – but this hour is just for you. Slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself in a space designed to restore calm and confidence. Through mindfulness, guided meditation, journaling, and affirmations grounded in science and compassion, you’ll learn practical ways to quiet self-criticism, nurture inner peace, and renew your energy for the things that matter most to you. Leave feeling lighter, more centered, and ready to move forward with clarity and purpose.

Knitting for Health & Well-Being

With Dr. Kate Bender

Knitters often tout the many benefits of working with yarn. Join this fun and creative workshop to learn for yourself how knitting can benefit your health and nervous system. Whether you have never touched knitting needles or you are a skilled knitter, this experience is for you. An added bonus, you will leave with a special souvenir.

Feel Good Flow

With Abby Valletta

Abby’s technique blends slow, intuitive movement, with stretching and release work to bring you a feel good class that will melt tension from your body. Explore your body from the inside out and reconnect to how good it feels to be in your body. You’ll move slowly, pause often and learn to listen to what you truly need- creating space to unwind, soften and let go. This class is for all bodies.
