Naturopathy
Naturopathy is a holistic approach to healthcare that focuses on supporting the body’s natural healing processes through personalized treatments, promoting overall wellness and addressing the root causes of illness.

What to Expect with Naturopathy
As a patient of naturopathy at Fernwood Holistic Health you will be treated and evaluated as an individual, and your health plan will be specific not only to what diagnosis you have, but to you as a whole person. Rather than looking at each individual symptom or diagnosis as separate, the goal in naturopathy is to find the connections between your symptoms, to look at the bigger picture, and to treat the cause of your issues from the ground up.
Your naturopathic evaluation will include a thorough history, physical exam, labs and imaging, and collaboration with other health care provides when necessary.
In naturopathy, naturopathic physicians order many of the same types of labs you may have at a conventional doctor’s office, but also often include a more thorough lab evaluation including nutritional factors, hormonal testing, food sensitivity testing, and more.
Complimentary modalities such as botanical (herbal) medicine, therapeutic nutrition, therapeutic exercise, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, oriental medicine, acupuncture, counseling, and diet & lifestyle modification, are often used in naturopathy. These therapies are effective, but generally safer, less toxic, and have fewer side effects than conventional therapies.
At Fernwood Holistic Health, we will use these naturopathic techniques in individualized treatment programs to help you achieve your unique health goals.
